He has cycled the length or width of most of the continents and set speed records on numerous long-distance rides. He is best known for having set a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Around-World-80-Days-Adventure\/dp\/0552175498\/ref=sr_1_2?crid=1KBWDGMR5TEK&amp;keywords=mark+beaumont+cycling&amp;qid=1666039406&amp;qu=eyJxc2MiOiIyLjkyIiwicXNhIjoiMC4wMCIsInFzcCI6IjAuMDAifQ%3D%3D&amp;sprefix=mark+beaumont%2Caps%2C987&amp;sr=8-2\">world record for circumnavigating the world<\/a> on a bike, more than 18,000 miles, in less than 80 days (if you do the math, that means he averaged 240 miles a day, riding 16 hours a day, at an average speed of 15mph; those numbers boggle the mind!).<\/p>\n<p>Mark and I met when he found me on the internet and asked me to be on his podcast. We hit it off immediately and the seed was planted for this book.
