But, given that many of my social media followers are from the world of ski racing, I&#8217;m posting a <a href=\"https:\/\/sbacademy.org\/executive-director-search\">job announcement<\/a> for the new Executive Director of SBSTA (I&#8217;m a member of its Board of Trustees, co-chair of the search committee, and have two young ski racers who attend winter term at SBA).<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SBSTA has begun a search for an Executive Director to lead us into its next chapter. This is an incredible opportunity for the right person! We want to cast a wide net to include both people currently involved in ski racing (e.g., at an academy, race program, or national team) and those who have a high-level skiing background, but who have found leadership success in another career path (e.g., corporate, non-profit).<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The ideal candidate would possess the following qualities and experiences:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>High emotional intelligence (e.g., self-awareness, humility, empathy, interpersonal skills, authenticity)<\/li>\n<li>Transparent, inclusive, relational, and collaborative leadership style<\/li>\n<li>Thought leader\/visionary\/innovator\/strategic thinker<\/li>\n<li>Passionate, energetic, inspiring<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to jump in wherever needed<\/li>\n<li>Personal and\/or professional experience balancing academics with high-level athletics<\/li>\n<li>Proven leadership within a complex organization<\/li>\n<li>Financial management acumen (e.g., P&amp;L, budgets, compensation)<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated ability to connect with and inspire a wide spectrum of stakeholders<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you are interested in applying, know someone who might be, or are willing to share our ED search with your social media and personal networks, please learn more from the <a href=\"https:\/\/sbacademy.org\/executive-director-search\">job announcement<\/a> or email me directly (jim@drjimtaylor.com).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I rarely post anything on my blog and social media that isn&#8217;t related to my professional life.
